Friendsgiving
This year my friend and I took on the intimidating task of cooking our first turkey for our Friendsgiving dinner party. Besides pulling out the disgusting bag of who-knows-what parts of the turkey (ew), it went quite well. We followed this recipe and watched the accompanying youtube video a million times. I'm no expert but I think it turned out pretty good!
It was exciting to set things up fancy and write up a menu on my kitchen chalkboard.
Lizzy and I made these place cards with tree clippings and berries from your yard. I tried my best with Lizzy's calligraphy pen to write names but I have some room for improvement ;) I'd love to one day actually learn how to do calligraphy!
Overall, Friendsgiving was really fun and definitely a tradition I would like to continue!

The Little Things: October Edition
Moving the couch super close to the TV, ordering pizza and watching Interstellar (finally).
Dressing up like Harry Potter characters. Taking stupid pictures and Mitch modeling like a boss.
Watching Halloweentown & passing out candy to trick or treaters (even though we got like 20 kids total -- we had soooo much left over candy that I finally just had to give it all away so I wouldn't eat every last piece). We got a kick out of making fun of how absolutely cheesy and awful Disney movies were back in the day. They seemed a lot more dangerous, epic and hilarious to me as a kid ;)
Setting up another hammock in the backyard and it being warm enough to enjoy it.
Building & painting new furniture for my studio.
The beautiful beautiful mountains changing color everyday outside my window.
Finally hanging things on the wall in our bedroom!
Candles everyday. Because October.
Crisp, perfect weather.
October is the freaking best. Until next year, you beautiful thing.

Harry Potter Party!
Our downstairs neighbors threw a Harry Potter party & it was super magical!
We all competed in the Triwizard tournament and our team won (obviously) ;)
Doesn't Mitch look dashing in his beard? And big thanks to him for helping me with my hair, it was quite the project (one hundred million bobby pins and an hour of flat ironing). Luckily it's back to normal now :)
I made the bon bons which were topped with pop rocks. #pinterest
All the food was seriously amazing and so perfectly themed!
All legit photos taken by Alizabeth Wheatley ;)
